The Piano, if available, doesn’t have to be an old model, just knowing the likelihood of finding a newer one going free is slim to none! So if it is a Piano of particular age it is likely to need to have originally been of a certain quality to be worth saving and restoring for playing.
Currently both myself and my piano teacher are looking for a new grand, but with the cost of them, moving them and retuning is about as much as either of us can afford!
We both are lucky enough to have space for a fairly large grand although anything around the 6ft mark would be perfect.
My teacher doesn’t necessarily know she is getting a new piano, but she does so much for me I am attempting to give something back and find her a good grand to replace her one! I have sneakily asked about if she could afford a new one, hence knowing she can afford to move one but not buy one!
So hopefully someone out there can help!
