This piano (Mr Price) has been with me for 48 years (my great Aunt was a piano teacher and began to teach me when I was 8). It has moved with me from Ramsbury, Wiltshire to London back to Devizes and finally here to Rowde (93 Springfield Road SN10 2PD). Both my partner and I are freelancers working in the arts so we’ve always enjoyed having the piano but never been able to afford to have it tuned properly and, of course, the longer it’s gone on, the more it has needed (and still does) attention.
I would love the piano to be restored and tuned and then be given to someone who can’t afford a piano but who would love it as I have done. It’s not grand (in any sense!), it’s not worth anything, but it deserves some TLC and a new home. Can you help? Would you be able to re-home it? I can’t bear the thought of it just going to a tip and being destroyed.
Make: E Price and Sons
Upright – dark wood
Dimensions are:
Height: 1M 20cm
Width (back to edge of keyboard): 585cm
Length: 1M 42cm
Condition: A few scratches and dints from moving and loving wear and tear. Some keys stick – it really does need a good tune and overhaul. It has not been moved (except to be pulled forward when decorating) for 15 years.
Coronavirus has necessitated a new business (selling olives) and we need more space. Mr Price is the reluctant sacrifice.
