My grandmother’s piano (I’m >50). Comes with matching bench and non-matching, red bench cushion (if desired).
MUST MOVE by October 20, 2023. No stairs involved (movable through a basement walk-out). I am moving from this townhouse shortly thereafter.
Before that date, I am open to negotiating reasonable moving costs.
After that date, if I have to pay to move it to the new house, I will not contribute toward moving it again for someone else.
Or I may take it apart and junk it after that date.
“Good” condition, as defined by:
– all keys play and tune is at least very close (would likely sound good to most people, but perhaps not perfect enough for professional musicians or audiophile enthusiasts)
– overall structure is solid; no known “rot”
– key “action” feels comfortable
– 2 white keys on the bass side are chipped on 1 corner
– wood has nicks and shows signs of wear from 2 households with children, plus moves
“Console” designation comes from the 40″ height and overall look, and using this page as a reference: http://www.bluebookofpianos.com/types.html
My “circa” dating comes from a blend of:
– personally known family history
– apparently, a tuner (“P.L.”) wrote his/her tuning dates on the pegboard itself: 3-11-60 and 1-17-66
– SN 94303 closely matches this “JustAnswer” page, where someone asked how old their upright Weaver SN 94507 was, and 2 musical appraisers answered “1957” (my piano is 204 pianos before that one, so I subtracted 1 year) — https://www.justanswer.com/musical-instrument-appraisal/6gvno-upright-weaver-piano.html
In the end, I have it; if you want it for only the moving costs at the most, do reach out and contact me very, VERY soon.
